Katrina Kaif - Sheila Ki Jawani
Video and Slideshow below.
Very popular Item number from the movie "Tees Meir Khan".
Plenty of sexual hints, which is to be expected, since the title of the song itself means "The youth of Sheila", which can also be interpreted as "The virginity of Sheila", especially when taken in context with the rest of the lyrics. Also in the first shot you see her lying in bed with a plastic sheet under her.
To protect the bed from when she's having her virginity taken?
I noticed many kinds of symbolism, moon, cross, fire, 3's, "lady in red", masculine/feminine, 'Eyes Wide Shut" set, masks, water, checkerboard pattern, and more.
Although I've watched this video many times before, I've never consciously noticed the "fiery cross" in the second scene of the song. It became visible to my consciousness when watching it in slow motion.
There are only two explanations for this fiery cross to show on the ground, as reflection, between the dancers feet.
Either there was an upside down cross behind the dancers (formed by candles or lamps), or it was put in after the shoot with a computer.
Both explanations leave me to wonder and after seeing the fiery cross I'm more convinced that the true translation of the title is "The virginity of Sheila".
I'm no expert on fire, but why do all these flames look like mushroom clouds? They obviously used gas for the effect, but I'm pretty sure that they enhanced them with the computer after the shoot.
